WordCamp Ireland (1)

Classified in Blog > Inicio > Mecus > WordPress | Written at 11:57 | Post from RaveN

There are thousand notes in the notebook of this weekend. We could write everything and publish it, or be doing it step by step. We have been decided by the second option. Thus, we will have more time to write and to settle down all the information that we have shared, and you will not have to face with a document of several pages length. Here is the first post.  We hope that this series of articles reflects the exciting that is the development of a technology with a work philosophy so different from the traditional one.

WordCamp IRL Schedule

Classified in Blog > Inicio > Mecus > WordPress | Written at 11:01 | Post from RaveN

In two days we will be in Ireland and we have made our road map for the WordCamp.

All sessions are interesting, but we do not have the gift of ubiquity, so we have to decide. And having already clear almost everything, we still have a session in which we don’t know where to be. We are very excited at the plenary talk by Jane Wells, who is one of the employees of Automattic with more weight. We hope to know more about the upcoming version 3.0 of WordPress and the final fusion of the individual blogs with multiblog. Joost de Valk on Frameworks and their essential Donncha Super Cache are also critical for us.

In Mecus we are travelling again. We are very excited. And it’s because within a week starts in Kilkenny, Ireland, WordCamp Ireland 2010.

We could say that it’s not all work. We are going to to Ireland because it’s not very far. But it’s not true(mostly because Kilkenny is not an accessible city). We have many, many reasons for wanting to be there.

BuddyPress 1.2 is out (with a surprise)

Classified in Blog > Inicio > Mecus > WordPress | Written at 2:46 | Post from Luis

BuddyPress 1.2 is out –BuddyPress is the application for social networks based in WordPress. Andy Peatling, his lead developer in Automattic, announces it in its blog and reserves a little mention for our loved Rocío (_DorsVenabili), who works in the development of this product line in Mecus.

We think that the bes way to give a good service to our customers is to be involved in the development of the product itself, knowing the latest news and helping to resolve problems, or proposing changes and adding code to the next versions. Rocío, despite he has been with us only a few months and is working with free software since then, has well understood the dynamics of collaboration and innovation of this ecosystem.

José Conti, other professional and friend dedicated to BuddyPress, has published some guides about how to apply BuddyPress to prior versions.
