In two days we will be in Ireland and we have made our road map for the WordCamp.

All sessions are interesting, but we do not have the gift of ubiquity, so we have to decide. And having already clear almost everything, we still have a session in which we don’t know where to be. We are very excited at the plenary talk by Jane Wells, who is one of the employees of Automattic with more weight. We hope to know more about the upcoming version 3.0 of WordPress and the final fusion of the individual blogs with multiblog. Joost de Valk on Frameworks and their essential Donncha Super Cache are also critical for us.

BuddyPress 1.2 is out –BuddyPress is the application for social networks based in WordPress. Andy Peatling, his lead developer in Automattic, announces it in its blog and reserves a little mention for our loved Rocío (_DorsVenabili), who works in the development of this product line in Mecus.

We think that the bes way to give a good service to our customers is to be involved in the development of the product itself, knowing the latest news and helping to resolve problems, or proposing changes and adding code to the next versions. Rocío, despite he has been with us only a few months and is working with free software since then, has well understood the dynamics of collaboration and innovation of this ecosystem.

Mecus se va este fin de semana a Barcelona al gran encuentro nacional de WordPress: WordCamp España 2009.

Un proyecto comunitario es algo que implica a un grupo para obtener una meta. Y si es un producto, se puede hacer como en una empresa tradicional o con la ayuda de una comunidad dispersa. WordPress es un proyecto de software libre liderado por una empresa, Automattic, que aunque tiene la última palabra, no lo controla del todo. Es un equipo descentralizado de programadores de fuera de la empresa el que hace gran parte del trabajo de desarrollo. Y su opinión es más que importante para tomar las grandes decisiones. Leer más
